Albums

Make an album to collect media versions stored in different boxes without having to move or duplicate them. For example, you might have an album for “Favorite Flowers” and another for “Favorite Food.” If you have a photo with a flower and a tasty sandwich, you can add the photo to both albums.

A single media version can be added to any number of albums, and changes to the media version in one album will also be visible in other albums and in its original box.

Creating albums

Create an album by using the File > New Album menu command.

Create an album with selected items

If you want to create an album using selected media versions, hold down the Option key and select the File > New Album From Selection menu command.

Removing items from albums

To remove an item, select it and either press the Delete key or select the Media > Remove from Album command.

Renaming albums

To rename an album,

Select the album in the Library inspector by clicking it
Click its name again to start editing the name

Deleting albums

To delete an album, either:

Select the album and use the File > Delete Album menu command
Control-click the album to show the context menu and select Delete Album
