Adding media without copying files

When importing items from a device such as a camera, you have to copy the files to your Mac. But for files that are already on your Mac, you can just add them to the library without copying them.

Use the File Transfer options in the Import window’s right sidebar and select None. The items will be added to the library without moving or copying them.
